The Jacob Beck Jaffurs Scholarship
Jacob Beck Jaffurs was one of the most enthusiastic, pragmatically altruistic and modest overachievers many of us will ever meet. A medical student in his final year at the University of Auckland, he died in March 2011 in a free-diving accident.
These scholarships honour Jacob.
The purpose of the JBJ scholarships is simple: to support medical students who, like Jacob, have a lot to give to the community, who contribute to positive change, and who grasp every opportunity to better themselves and better the world.
